JoAnne Perez Robinson wins the 2011 Art Poster Contest

Gentle rolling golden foothills and the spring green row crop make a beautiful backdrop for the sunflower-embelished garlic braid depicted in the image selected as the winner of the Gilroy Garlic Festival's annual Art Poster Contest.

 First Place - 2011

JoAnne Perez Robinson is no stranger to the poster contest. She was awarded first place in 2006 and second place in 2008 and 2010. The winning poster was chosen from 11 entries. Prints of the winning poster (First Place only) will be available at the Festival's Mercantile stores for $10 each. The artist will be on hand to sign copies.

Second place was awarded to Kris Knutson of Gilroy. Kris is also a past poster contest winner earning first place 2001 and 2007 and second place in 2005.

Third place was awarded to Rene Ahal of Reseda, California.

Both the second and third place posters along with entries from Alexis Guiza, Amy Fortunato, Peggy Dean, Ruth Johnson Irving, Whitney Pintello, Cassidy Gilmore, and Ryan McBride will be on display in the People's Choice area in the Park side Mercantil during the festival. Festival guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite image and the winner is awarded a $200 cash prize.
